BML Munjal Awards 2026 Honour Excellence in Learning and Development at Grand Ceremony in New Delhi
The 18th BML Munjal Awards were held at Mindmine Summit 2026 in New Delhi, honouring leading organisations for excellence in learning and development. Tata Power, Engineers India Limited, Minda Corporation, and Sagar Defence Engineering were among the winners, with special mentions for ALIMCO and Aravind Eye Care System.
The ceremony also marked the unveiling of the Braille English edition of The Making of Hero, reflecting an inclusive effort to make the story of entrepreneurship and institution-building accessible to a wider audience. The book, authored by Sunil Kant Munjal, chronicles the formation, growth, and evolution of the Hero Group from a family-led enterprise into a globally recognised conglomerate.
The awards, instituted in memory of Dr. Brijmohan Lall Munjal, Founder and Chairman Emeritus of the Hero Group, honour organisations that treat learning as a strategic foundation for performance, innovation, and long-term growth. Over the years, the awards have expanded significantly, with participation rising from 35 companies in the inaugural edition to nearly 300 organisations in 2026, reflecting the growing emphasis on talent development and capability building across Indian industry.
This year’s awards recognised excellence across multiple categories. Tata Power received the Sustained Excellence award. Engineers India Limited was honoured in the Public Sector Undertaking category. Minda Corporation secured recognition in the Private Sector Manufacturing category, while Sagar Defence Engineering was named among the Emerging Stars.
The Jury’s Special Mention Awards were conferred upon the Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India and Aravind Eye Care System for their notable contributions and impactful work in their respective fields.
The ceremony was presided over by Mohan Bhagwat, chief of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, who presented the awards and delivered a keynote address titled “Nation Building: Roots, Values, Future.” In his address, he emphasised the importance of instilling pride in work among future generations, along with values-based leadership, social responsibility, and strong institution-building as essential pillars of national development rooted in cultural ethos.
Speaking at the event, Sunil Kant Munjal, Chairman of Hero Enterprise, stated that the awards were established to recognise organisations that understand sustainable success is built on people. He highlighted that in a rapidly changing technological, economic, and social environment, continuous learning, adaptability, and talent development have become key competitive advantages. He further noted that increasing participation reflects a deeper commitment among organisations to cultivating learning-oriented and purpose-driven workplaces.
The evaluation process for the awards followed a rigorous multi-stage assessment conducted by Grant Thornton Bharat, the knowledge partner, with final selections made by an eminent jury comprising leading figures from India’s business community.
The BML Munjal Awards continue to position learning and development as a central driver of organisational excellence, innovation, and nation-building, while recognising institutions that generate measurable impact through sustained investment in human capital and capability enhancement.
